Kaurna knowledge holders and experts have been invited by the South Australian Museum to express their interest in joining a new Kaurna Expert Focus Working Group to help guide the development of the Kaurna Living Cultural Garden Project at the South Australian Museum.
Led by Kaurna people and supported by the Kaurna Yerta Aboriginal Corporation (KYAC), the project aims to transform the Museum's front lawn into a culturally appropriate space on Kaurna Country for teaching, learning, ceremony, events and community gathering. The project will also acknowledge the Museum's history and its impact on First Nations people.
Expressions of interest are sought from Kaurna experts and knowledge holders with experience in Indigenous Ecology, Education, Kaurna Language, Art, Health and Wellbeing, and Indigenous Science.
Workshops will be held between August and December 2026, with participants remunerated for their contribution.
To apply, interested peoplel should submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) including their contact details, at least one referee, and up to 300 words outlining their experience and area of expertise to [email protected].
