Rival clubs circle Josh Addo-Carr, young Warrior arrives at Dogs during NRL offseason

A four-pronged hunt has emerged for Canterbury-Bankstown winger Josh Addo-Carr placing uncertainty over future as a Bulldog, according to reports.

Earlier this week, Parramatta presented as a suitor for the 28-year-old with a player swap involving Eels second-rower Ryan Matterson understood to be on offer.

Addo-Carr is contracted to the Bulldogs until the end of 2025, however the saga surrounding his involvement in an all-in brawl at the Koori Knockout in early October has reportedly soured relationships between the player and club.

The matter saw Addo-Carr handed a two game suspension ruling him out of Australia's Pacific Championship contests with Samoa and New Zealand.

Koori Knockout organisers told National Indigenous Times the matter had been blown out of proportion, however Addo-Carr later revealed he had been "put to sleep" in an earlier incident during the game, prompting a quick response for head injury assessments at Canterbury.

The NSW representative had also caused a stir with a social media post commenting on the Israeli-Palestine conflict in recent weeks.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, Bulldogs general manager of football Phil Gould has assured the club's intention to keep Addo-Carr on their books.

Following interest from the Eels, Newcastle, St George-Illawarra and Wests Tigers have all signalled interest in the star winger.

In other news, the Dogs have lured prop and Indigenous All Stars representative Josh Curran to Belmore on a two-year deal following his release from the Warriors with a year remaining on his deal.

Curran averaged 61 metres with the ball and 27 tackles per game in 2023.

"From the first time I saw Josh Curran play, he looked like a Bulldog to me," Gould said, via NRL.com.

"Once he became available, we just had to sign him up. At 24 years of age, his best football is clearly in front of him. We are very excited to have Josh in our club".
