The PULiiMA 2025 Indigenous Languages and Technology Conference has proudly unveiled its full program agenda, promising three powerful days of "inspiration, collaboration, and cultural celebration" from August 27-29 in Darwin.

This year, PULiiMA brings together a global network of presenters, with voices joining from across Australia and international locations including Canada, Aotearoa/New Zealand, Finland, Ecuador, Cambodia, Bolivia, the United States, Pakistan, and French Polynesia. With representation spanning urban, remote, and international communities, PULiiMA 2025 will be "one of the most globally diverse Indigenous conferences to date", organisers said.

Program highlights include: Seven keynote speakers, featuring prominent Indigenous leaders, international advocates, and cultural changemakers; more than 100 breakout sessions across seven streams, covering topics such as language revitalisation, community empowerment, cultural knowledge systems, voices of country, technology and innovation, truth telling, education, and technology innovation; and "deep dive" sessions for hands-on learning, community-driven solutions, and transformational dialogue.

Anchored by this year's theme, "Echoes of the Past, Voices of the Future", the 2025 conference invites us to honour the strength of ancestral languages while uplifting the voices of future generations. Through conservation, revitalisation, and bold storytelling, this theme positions PULiiMA as a global platform where the past and future converge.

PULiiMA founder Daryn McKenny said PULiiMA 2025 is "more than a conference".

"It's a powerful movement of language and cultural reclamation and Indigenous excellence," he said.

"It's about elevating voices from all walks of life and from every corner of the globe, we need to do everything we can to keep our languages and knowledges from being lost anymore, we hope PULiiMA plays its role in supporting this."

PULiiMA 2025 is introducing two new additions to this year's agenda: Men's Gathering Tuesday 26 August, a "culturally grounded space for men to connect, share, and strengthen leadership through Indigenous language and story"; and Young Champions Gathering Monday 25 August, an "inspiring and energetic platform for the next generation of language warriors to learn, lead, and be heard".

PULiiMA said the new events join the much-loved Women in Language Gathering and the ever-popular Gala Night/Australia's Got Language Talent show, "enriching an already dynamic program that fosters connection, empowerment, and cultural celebration".
