Young Blue Jesse Motlop has been handed a one-match suspension for his tackle on St Kilda's Dougal Howard on Sunday.

The 19-year-olds sling tackle on the Saint's defender was graded as careless, medium impact and high contact by the Match Review Officer.

Howard's arms were pinned before being slung to the ground, his head dumped into the Marvel Stadium turf.

Motlop is the eighth player in five weeks to be suspended in similar fashion throughout a crackdown on sling and dump tackles by the league.

The incident occurred minutes before the final break as St Kilda took control of the contest.

Motlop has played 18 games, including all six in 2023, since being drafted in 2021.
