Brisbane have handed Adelaide its first loss of the AFLW season in a thrilling encounter at Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday.

The Gangulu woman had nine disposals, seven of those contested, and four clearances during Brisbane's dominant second term where they were able to outscore the Crows by 18 points.

Anderson – the Lions' games record holder – has been one of the AFLW's best players for many years and she is still at the peak of her powers having averaged 27.8 disposals per game so far in 2023.

The 29-year-old is a an AFLW best-and-fairest winner, premiership player and has also won the Lions' best-and-fairest twice.

Ponter is in career-best form and has now kicked 14 goals for the season, placing her third on the AFLW leading goalkicker table.

King finished with 20 disposals and a game-high 13 tackles in the 5.7 (37) to 2.2 (14) loss.

The 18-year-old was drafted to St Kilda last year after winning the Northern Territory Football League's Rising Star award and her local team St Marys' senior best-and-fairest award.

She became the club's first-ever Indigenous AFLW player after making her debut against Geelong last year.
