Off the back of their first win for 2025, Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) have made a trio of signing announcements, including extensions for Indigenous stars Tim Kelly and Tyrell Dewar.

Out of contract at the end of this season, Kelly, 30, has inked a two-year deal to stay at the club until at least the end of 2027.

Dewar, 21, will remain an Eagle for an additional year after penning a three-year extension through to the end of 2028.

23-year-old mid Jack Hutchinson has also signed until the end of 2029, adding to his current deal.

Kelly said he was "absolutely stoked" to re-sign with the club.

The 2023 best-and-fairest winner had been a shining light in recent tough campaigns for Waalitj Marawar.

He averaged 28 touches per game in his John Worsfold Medal-winning year, his best since arriving at the club before the 2020 season after exploding onto the scene at Geelong as a mature-aged starter.

The Cats plucked Kelly from WAFL club South Fremantle in the 2017 draft as a 23-year-old.

"We are delighted to have Tim onboard for the next two years with the West Coast Eagles," Waalitj Marawar list manager Matt Clarke said.

"Tim's talent and experience will be vitally important to the regeneration of our squad under Andrew (McQualter) and keeping our 2023 Club Champion was a priority.

"He has the flexibility in his game to play through several positions in our new system and his leadership for our young core is highly valued. We feel Tim has some strong football ahead."

Kelly's signing comes less than a year on from speculation he could look to sign elsewhere after the current season, with reports of multiple clubs further east showing interest in the midfielder.

His manager was quick to squash any suggestions of a desire to leave.

"I'm always really grateful for the opportunity that the club gave me, they got me and my family home at a time when we really needed it," Kelly said on Thursday, via the club.

"There was no intentions of looking anywhere else, and I'm just pumped that we could get this done."

Kelly was dropped for the first time in his career earlier this season.

Dewar has doubled his senior games tally through the first half of the current season, running out for seven appearances.

The Naitanui Academy graduate played the entire 2023 season in the WAFL before his AFL debut last year.

"I feel so grateful, it's a big thing for me and my family," Dewar said.

"The Club put so much trust in me in my first year, I got picked up as a Category B Rookie and they've just believed in my since I first got drafted, and I'm forever grateful for the opportunity they've given me.

"I love coming to work every day, everyone has a big smile on their face, we all have a laugh and a bit of banter, and we all get along really well. I love the boys."

Clarke said the club believe Dewar possesses traits which will flourish under McQualter.

"His versatility is a very important part of what Andrew is looking for in our squad and we look forward to his progression," Clarke said.

"It is a credit to Tyrell's hard work and also our Next Generation Academy staff to achieve this."
