Scott Boland will enter Test camp alongside Australia's pace bowling big three as a full-strength side is expected to face Bangladesh in northern Australia next month.

Worimi quick Brendan Doggett, who made his Test debut in last summer's Ashes, has been part of training preparations for the series, but is not included in the 13-player squad to feature in Darwin and Mackay.

Bangladesh last toured Australia for red ball cricket in 2003.

Skipper Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc have all been named alongside Boland, with veteran spinner Nathan Lyon rounding out the first-choice bowling attack selected.

Boland had his first taste of a whole series on home soil during the Ashes, with opportunity through injury seeing him, as perennial back-up to Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood, feature in all five Tests.

He took 20 wickets - the third most of any player for the series, at an average of 24.95, bowled the most overs of any bowler and finished with best figures of 4/33 to help Australia claim the series 4-1.

Doggett, who took seven wickets in the opening two matches, has been preparing with the extended team in the next alongside pace option Michael Neser and offspinner Todd Murphy.

Allrounders Cameron Green and Beau Webster can provide some overs with the ball as selections in the squad.

Josh Inglis has been named as a potential back-up gloveman behind Alex Carey, while Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Steve Smith and Jake Weatherald round out the squad as specialist batters.

"While this is a 13-player squad, we have players prepared and available should any adjustments be required in the lead up to these matches," Australian chair of selectors George Bailey said.

"As previously stated, the volume of cricket and schedule across the next 12 months are likely to present further opportunities across all formats for many players."

Australia's XI hasn't featured the long-time first-choice bowling attack of Cummins, Stace, Hazlewood and Lyon in over 12 months.

Boland has taken 82 wickets in 19 Tests at 18.58 since debuting in the 2021-22 Ashes.

He and Doggett created history as the first two Indigenous cricketers to feature together in a Test XI during the first two matches of the 2025-25 series.

Doggett became just the fifth First Nations Test cricketer in history in the process.

After injury interrupted his end to the summer, including South Australia's back-to-back Sheffield Shield title.

A packed Test schedule to come provides hope of adding more matches in the baggy green to his career, Doggett, 32, told National Indigenous Times earlier this month.

"Trying to crack into the Australian Test team as a bowler has been a pretty hard job for the last four or five years," Doggett

"So the opportunity is going to be there. We're going to have to rotate. There's a lot of conversations around managing everyone throughout these next 18 months. So for me, it's pretty clear-cut just to make the most of them when they come."

The second match against Bangladesh will be the first time Mackay has hosted a Test match.

International white-ball fixtures, both men's and women's have been played at the ground. In 2025, the National Indigenous Cricket Championships moved to Great Barrier Reef Arena from Mparntwe (Alice Springs), returned earlier this year and will again in 2027.

Second Test: Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay August 22-26
