Former AFL player Steven Motlop put on a masterclass in front of goal over the weekend, booting a staggering 14 majors in the AFL Cairns competition.
The former Geelong and Port Adelaide forward led the way for Cairns City Lions in their crushing 145-point win over Manunda Hawks on Saturday at Cazalys Stadium.
Motlop set the tone early with two quick goals and finished with all four of the Lions' first quarter majors.
He was unstoppable throughout the early stages of the contest, kicking goals from all angles and piling on eight by half-time as the Hawks' defence could not find an answer to contain him.
The dominance continued after the break, with Motlop adding six more goals to finish a clear best-on-ground in the Lions' 25.15 (165) to 3.2 (20) demolition.
Alongside his goal haul, Motlop collected 28 disposals and took 15 marks – following on from his game-high 34 disposals in the season opener against Port Douglas.

Motlop is in his second season at Cairns City after featuring in three matches for the club during the 2023 season.
He is coming off an exceptional season in the Northern Territory Football League, which saw him kick 41 goals – placing second overall in the competition – while playing an integral role in Southern Districts' premiership.
The 34-year-old also captained the NTFL representative team in their big win against Central Australia earlier in the month.
The Lions, coached by former Melbourne Demons star Aaron Davey, currently sit atop the AFL Cairns ladder as one of two undefeated teams.
It is Davey's eighth season in charge, having previously led the club to its drought-breaking premiership in 2021 – their first in 28 years.
Cairns City has become a hub for Indigenous ex-AFL talent in recent years, boasting names like Eddie Sansbury, Marlon Motlop, Jake Long and Davey's younger brother, Alwyn.
Long – who played five games for Essendon – made a big impact on Saturday, producing a standout performance and finishing with 38 disposals.
