January 26 events and rallies are set to be held across Tasmanian on Monday, including the state's largest - a street march and rally on Hobart's Parliament Lawns.
Known as 'Invasion Day' by some and 'Survival Day' by others, January 26 remains a date where mob and allies gather to rally, mourn and protest the contentious date which remains synonymous with Australia's colonisation.
The following events will be held across the state on Monday January 26, 2026.
'Survival Day' at SETAC

What: South East Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation's 'Survival Day' Gathering.
When: Monday 26 January, from 8am
Where: Port Cygnet Cannery - 60 Limington Road, Cygnet.
All are welcome to the South East Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation's (SETAC) 'Survival Day' Gathering at the organisation's newly acquired Port Cygnet Cannery, where the cafe will be open offering a limited menu.

'Invasion Day' rally and street march - Hobart

What: The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre's 'we won't celebrate Invasion Day' street march and rally - Hobart.
When: Monday 26 January, from 11am.
Where: Street march: Gather behind the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre building, located at 198 Elizabeth Street, Hobart at 11:00am for an 11:20am departure to march to Parliament Lawns. Rally: Meet at 12:00pm on Parliament Lawns.

What: The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre's 'we won't celebrate Invasion Day' street march and rally - Devonport.
When: Monday 26 January, from 11am.
Where: Street March: Gather at the Tulaminakali Health Service, located at 106 Best Street, Devonport at 11:30am. Rally: Meet at 12:00am at Market Square, Paranaple Centre.
