A former Collingwood footballer accused of killing two elderly women in a crash in WA's Mid West will likely spend Christmas in prison after his bail was revoked following a breach.

Shannon Cox, 38, appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court on Thursday via audio link from Greenough Regional Prison after breaching his bail conditions over the weekend, the West Australian reports.

The nature of the bail breach was not made clear.

Cox had already breached his bail conditions in October after he was caught with methamphetamine in his system, before being placed in home detention with strict bail conditions.

Magistrate Kelly Thompson put the matter over to Cox's February 19 hearing in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court, with the former player remanded in custody.

Cox, who played 25 games for Collingwood before retiring in 2009, is facing two charges of manslaughter over a crash that took the life of two elderly women on Brand Highway in Cooljarlo, 170km north of Perth, on June 9.

Jurien Bay women Coral Seinor, 83, and Thelma Clausen, 82, died in the collision where it was alleged a Toyota Prado driven by Cox was travelling south when it collided with a Suzuki Ignis hatchback travelling north.

A white Volvo road train towing two trailers travelling northbound was also involved in the crash, which also saw a 12-year-old girl injured during the incident.

Cox and the 31-year-old male driver of the truck were not injured in the crash.

Initially charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death, Cox saw his charges upgraded to manslaughter when he appeared before the Geraldton Magistrates Court in July after police allege he returned a positive drugs test.

Cox has not entered a plea.
