Former Collingwood footballer Shannon Cox has been charged in relation to a multi-vehicle crash that killed two women in their 80s.
Cox, 38, was allegedly involved in a collision with a road train and a Suzuki hatchback on the Brand Highway in Cooljarloo, WA on Friday morning.
It's understood two women died at the scene and a 12-year-old was left with minor injuries.
According to Sky News, Cox and the driver of the road train were not injured.
On Saturday, Cox appeared at a Perth Magistrates Court where was charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death and remanded in custody.
It's understood he will be remanded until returning to court on June 18.
Cox made 25 appearances for the Magpies between 2007-2009.
