Port Adelaide have been dealt a double injury blow, with talented duo Jason Horne-Francis and Lachie Jones both succumbing to hamstring strains during Saturday's loss to Geelong at Adelaide Oval.
The pair were forced from the field during the first half of the Power's Round 10 defeat.
Scans conducted the following day confirmed hamstring strains for both players.
While initial fears pointed to possible tendon damage there was relief for Horne-Francis, whose injury was revealed to be on the minor side.
The powerful 21-year-old midfielder's injury is listed as four weeks, but he could return as early as after the Power's Round 12 bye.
Speaking to 7News, Horne-Francis opened up about the moment he felt the injury.
"It was my first hammy, so it was a bit weird for me," said the Wardaman man.
"You definitely know when you do it – you just feel it kind of go and grab and that's what I felt.
"I didn't feel like it was too bad but we will just see how it goes."

Horne-Francis had been enjoying a strong start to the season, averaging 23 disposals across his nine games prior to the setback.
The outlook is less promising for 23-year-old defender Lachie Jones, who is set for an extended stint of the sidelines with his injury.
The club confirmed on Monday that his hamstring strain could see him unavailable for as long as eight weeks.
Jones had been handed the tough task of shutting down Geelong star Jeremy Cameron and was performing well before being sidelined.
The Yanyuwa man pulled up clutching his left hamstring after evading Cameron and delivering a handball late in the second quarter.
Given Jones' history with soft tissue issues, the Power are expected to adopt a cautious approach to his recovery.
He has battled injury throughout his five seasons at the club and has only managed more than 15 games in a season once.
The negating defender had averaged 10 disposals across eight games so far in 2025.
