Australia's Women's Indigenous team has started the PacificAus Sports Cricket Invitational in undefeated fashion after comprehensively defeating Samoa on Monday.
The 46-run victory came after Australia defeated hosts Papua New Guinea in the tournament opener on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat at Port Moresby's Amini Park, Australia posted a competitive 3/116 from their 20 overs against Samoa on the back of a strong partnership between opener Clodagh Ryall and first drop Ella Hayward.
Following the early loss of Emma Manix-Geeves (3 from 8) in the second over, Ryall (44 from 57) and Hayward (38 from 41) occupied the crease for more than 14 overs to put on a game-high 79 for the second wicket.
Their partnership came to an end After Hayward was bowled by Samoan captain Tuaoloa Helen Semau (2/21) in the 16th over.
Hayward's dismissal saw Ryall joined by Anika Learoyd, the NSW Breaker and Sydney Thunder batter contributing a quick fire 24 (16), including a boundary and a six, to see Australia accelerate into the final overs of the innings.

In response Samoa were outclassed by a spin-dominant Australian attack, managing a miserly 9/70 in response to fall 46 runs short.
Five off-spinners featured in Australia's attack alongside the sole seamer in Maddison Spence.
Captain Christina Coulson was the pick of the Australian attack with 3/7, while Elise Simpson and Grade Abdy each finished with 2/19 from their three overs, respectively.
Australia's dominant win came a day after defeating Papua New Guinea in Sunday's tournament opener.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Papua New Guinea posted a modest 6/108, a total easily eclipsed by Australia with eight wickets in the sheds.
Opening the batting, Learoyd anchored the Australian chase with an unbeaten 62* (57), her innings including eight boundaries.
She was well supported by Mikayla Hinkley (31* from 28) the pair putting 76 on for the third wicket to comple the chase with two overs to spare.
