Proud Biripi woman and rising BMX talent, Holyee-ann Jackson, is set to host a community fundraising event next month.
The event is in support of the Aussie Athlete Fund, founded by Olympic gold medallist Natalie Cook, which challenges its 20 supported athletes to create fundraising events to support their sporting journeys.
Jackson has worked closely with Cook over the past four years, learning vital fundraising skills to pursue her goals.
She discussed the significance of the event with National Indigenous Times.
"This event means the world to me, all the support from the community, people willing to help me," she said.
"I can't explain how good it feels to know so many people are behind me, to me this event is important 'cause with everyday living, sports costs can be hard and not everyone has the opportunity to excel in there sport because they don't have the funds to get to events."

The event will include an opportunity for attendees to try sports including archery, football, fitness, and BMX.
Market stalls, a cent auction, and a sausage sizzle will also be part of the program.
Hot rod and street car displays, along with cultural performances, will add to the festivities, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for the community.
The 15 year-old is currently ranked 8th in the World for BMX. Some of her achievements to date include; 3x Australian BMX Titles, 9x Qld BMX Titles, 2x Young, Black & Proud Scholarship Winner, 2x Junior Sportsperson of the Year Finalist and 2022 Junior Sportsperson of the Year Winner.
Funds raised through the event will contribute to Jackson's BMX journey, including a $10,000 money board where proceeds will be shared between the winner and her sporting ambitions.
Additionally, Jackson has donated $500 for a prize draw open to local athletes under the age of 18, offering them a chance to kickstart their own fundraising journeys.

Natalie Cook and other athletes will attend the event alongside local sporting legends.
Jackson hopes the event will inspire young athletes and demonstrate how financial barriers can be overcome with determination and community support.
"This event will bring the community together and help young athletes understand that their dreams are possible with the right help and community behind them," she said.
"Not only is this event supporting me but I'm giving back and supporting younger athletes from the up and coming generation to create their journey.
"Everyone starts somewhere."
Jackson also has merchandise available for purchase from Fan Wear Co.'s website.
Her family gives praise to Signsonic Graphics + Design for being a major sponsor and supporter of the event, ensuring it gets off the ground.
The community is encouraged to attend and support this event, which highlights the importance of empowering young athletes and celebrating their achievements.
The event will take place on Sunday 16 February at the West End Rugby League and Football Club, located at 193 Chermside Road, East Ipswich, from 10am to 3pm.
