Port Adelaide midfielder Jason Horne-Francis has produced another starring performance in his team's upset 30-point win over Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval on Sunday night.

The dynamic on-baller recorded a season-high 29 disposals as the Power trounced the Hawks 18.13 (121) to 14.7 (91) in front of 47,671 people in the final game of Gather Round.

Horne-Francis' game also included seven clearances and 637 metres gained – the most of any player on the ground.

It was the 21-year-old's second consecutive outstanding performance after he recorded 28 disposals and three goals in the Power's loss to St Kilda in Round 4.

Sunday night's contest added another chapter to what is shaping as one of the AFL's biggest rivalries.

The teams paired off in two thrilling contests last year with the Power claiming victory on both occasions.

In Round 10, Port registered a one-point come-from-behind win courtesy of a last-minute soccer goal by Darcy Byrne-Jones.

This was followed by a three-point semi-final win in which Power coach Ken Hinkley was later fined $20,000 by the AFL for taunting Hawthorn players post-game.

Horne-Francis said that he and his teammates used the rivalry as motivation heading into the match.

"I know I definitely used it," the Wardaman man told the Seven Network post-game.

"I think rivalries are so good to have and I think the one that we're building here, it's such a good rivalry, so I know I definitely used it, I know some of the boys used it."

Horne-Francis praised his coach for his passion and said that the team was determined not to let him down after last year's thrilling semi-final win.

"'Kenny' was a bit fired up, but I think it's good for us," he said.

"Ken is an emotional person, and he's really passionate which we love about him, and he was just passionate throughout the week.

"He wanted to get this win with what happened last year (and) we didn't want to let him down."

After a late surge by Hawthorn, the Power's victory was sealed after a double-goal to Willie Rioli after he cheekily showed the footy to the Hawks defenders before kicking a goal from point blank range.

Hinkley said post-game he didn't see the incident but that the game should embrace "entertainers" such as Rioli.

"I actually didn't see what he did, I just knew he got a second shot of goal which I was bloody happy about at that point in the game," Hinkley told media.

"All I know is that Willie is an entertainer and we should embrace those boys and we should be really looking after what they do to the game of footy, it's such an exciting time to watch them when they play."

Rioli later expressed his "hatred" for the Hawthorn Football Club in a now-deleted Instagram story.

"Play with fire, (you're) gonna get burnt," the caption read.

"My hatred for this club goes way (past) last year antics, what they did to my dad, and my brother, is why I can't stand them. Not the players."
