The Haus of Dizzy represents much more than your average jewellery store; it represents what can be achieved in the face of significant adversity.

Wiradjuri woman Kristy Dickinson is the proud owner and founder of Haus of Dizzy, an online jewellery brand which has been making waves across Australia for the past few years.

The self proclaimed 'Queen of Bling's' unique designs are rooted in Indigenous and women's empowerment, providing a splash of color, pride and attitude in every piece she makes.

"I love to think of my earrings as conversation starters," she said.

Haus of Dizzy earrings have even been seen being rocked by music icon Lauryn Hill back in 2019.

Ms Dickinson has always been passionate about crafting jewellery. She explained how it was more often an escape for her on her journey to healing, in the early stages.

"I've always had making jewellery as an a kind of art therapy for my depression and anxiety," Ms Dickinson said.

"It helped me not overthink things and overcome that side of things.

"I was in-between jobs and I thought I'd give this thing a go and try and work for myself."

The Haus of Dizzy collections are often a gentle nod to Ms Dickinsons fond childhood memories.

"Growing up I always collected sea glass - and then I found acrylic that looked exactly like sea glass. So I started the seaglass range," she said.

"Things that remind me of my childhood I like to bring into my jewellery. There's a lot of references to barbie.

"The first black barbie was called Kristie so I thought 'Oh I'm the black barbie'."

Recently, the Haus of Ziggy Lee was announced. This will be Kristy and her son's first steps into the world of children's clothing where Ziggy Lee will become a young CEO of sorts.

"Ziggy has been on my hip the whole time, since he was born he's been in the studio," Ms Dickinson said.

"He's got his own clothing label now so he'll be a CEO at only 3."

Haus of Ziggy Lee is aiming for an October release of the first collection.

Ms Dickinson's parting words advised young mob to strongly pursue their passions, as soon as they can in order to gain real world experience.

"I was that person saying I'm not good enough, I'm shame. As I got older I just put it out, if they don't like me, they don't like me," she said.

"Plus, it's always good to get someone else's opinion so you know where you could be stronger, or be less, so just get it out there."
