West Coast forward Tyler Brockman is making a strong impression at his new club with an impressive display during a recent match simulation.

Brockman joined the Eagles during last year's trade period after spending three seasons at Hawthorn.

The 21-year-old Yamatji man has put his best foot forward in his new colours with some impressive displays on the training track during the club's pre-season.

"Following an impressive goal kicking display in Monday's session, Tyler Brockman was one of the standouts in today's match simulation," an official club match report read.

"Spending his time between the forward line and the midfield, Brockman kicked three goals, one on the run after he smothered a kick-in from inside attacking 50, and two from set shots."

The exciting small forward kicked 23 goals from 26 games at the Hawks after originally being selected with pick 46 in the 2020 AFL National Draft.

The West Australian – who has a young family including twin daughters – requested a trade home at the end of last season and originally generated plenty of interest from rival club Fremantle.

However, Brockman would eventually land at the Eagles in exchange for picks 44 and 63 in last year's National Draft.

Meanwhile, injured forward Liam Ryan continues to make positive steps forwards in his rehabilitation.

"Liam Ryan's hamstring rehabilitation is well on its way, with the premiership forward pleasingly making an appearance on the track on Monday," a club report said.

"Ryan did some light stretching work on the ground, before incorporating some stair walks, and finishing with walking laps around the oval."

It was revealed three weeks ago that Ryan needed surgery on his troublesome hamstring after another recurrence of the injury.

"We are all really disappointed for Liam. He had been working hard this pre-season and over the Christmas break to be ready to go when we start playing practice matches," Eagles footy manager Gavin Bell said at the time.

Last month, the 27-year-old signed a new two-year contract extension that will see him remain at the Eagles until at least the end of the 2026 season.
