A Noongar woman and her three young sons are seeking new accommodation after being allegedly threatened by a man at their current home.

The young woman, who is more than eight months pregnant, and her three sons live in Boorloo/Perth's eastern suburbs.

It is understood the alleged culprit lives in the same complex of units, which are owned by the WA Department of Housing and Works.

The woman told National Indigenous Times she needs to move out as soon as possible.

"I just want to be transferred out of there for the safety of me and my kids," she said.

"I am sick of waking up listening to his drama and him looking for trouble. I'm ready to give birth any time now.

"My kids are too scared to play outside because of him, and even scared to walk outside to jump in my car. We can't live in fear like this."

Her mother told National Indigenous Times that her daughter was hospitalised Monday.

The woman's mother said the man threatened her daughter with what appeared to be a gun.

Several Tactical Response Group police officers attended on Sunday and arrested the man, she said. It is understood the weapon was in fact a lighter which looked like a replica gun and not a real weapon.

WA Police told National Indigenous Times the man had been arrested on Sunday and refused bail on an unrelated matter.

The woman's mother said the man had moved into the complex recently and had been causing problems for several neighbours, including another woman who has also asked the Department of Housing and Works to move her to another address.

This publication understands the Department of Housing and Works has told the young Noongar woman it would be some time before a transfer - if approved - would occur and advised her to contact the police if she felt threatened in any way by her neighbour.

National Indigenous Times has contacted the Department for comment.
