Gold Coast utility Jy Farrar has put his hand up for a senior recall following a standout performance in the VFL over the weekend.
The high-flying 28-year-old booted a season-best five straight goals in the Suns' narrow three-point loss to Geelong at Kardinia Park on Saturday.
Farrar kicked back-to-back majors in the opening term and added one in each of the remaining quarters in the 11.3 (69) to 10.12 (72) defeat.
It marked his second strong showing in as many games after kicking three goals against Sandringham a fortnight ago.
The Kija and Jaru man has played 34 AFL games since his debut in 2020 but has struggled to break back into the senior side in recent seasons, with his most recent AFL appearance coming in 2023.
However, he is certain to give Suns' coach Damien Hardwick something to think about at the selection table if he can continue his strong form in front of goals in the VFL.
Farrar – who is set to come out of contract at the end of the season – has suffered a number of frustrating injuries over the past year, including a fractured finger sustained at training last month.
In the same game, fellow Indigenous Sun Malcolm Rosas impressed with a strong midfield performance.

Rosas gathered 23 disposals, laid six tackles and recorded seven clearances in a polished display as he pushes for an AFL recall.
At Richmond, Maurice Rioli Jr continues his transition into the midfield, collecting 17 disposals and a goal in the VFL Tigers' win over Sydney.
While the performance was not as strong as his effort against Greater Western Sydney's reserves the previous week, the 22-year-old still showed plenty of positives as he adapts to his new role.
Powerful forward Mykelti Lefau was another strong contributor for the Tigers, finishing with 13 disposals, six tackles and a goal as he builds back form and confidence following an ACL injury.
Over at Greater Western Sydney, Harry Rowston was dominant in his side's 103-point thumping of the Northern Bullants.
The 20-year-old collected 21 disposals and slotted two goals, while lively small forward Josiah Delana chipped in with 16 touches and two majors of his own.
Meanwhile, former Brisbane Lions player Blake Coleman was the most damaging player on the ground for Williamstown against his former team on Saturday.
Coleman – who had not registered a goal all season – starred with a career-best five majors from 11 disposals in the Seagulls' comprehensive 56-point win over the VFL Lions.
