The Sydney Sixers have unveiled their First Nations kit for WBBL|11 and BBL|15, designed by Wiradjuri artist Lua Pellegrini.

A bold new design which celebrated Country, community, and connection to water, the design features three circles which represent the Sixers' home grounds, each surrounded by the Sixers community which the club says supports and uplifts its players.

Ms Pellegrini said the artwork reflects the "deep importance of the ocean across the lands of the Sixers' three home grounds"; the SCG on Gadigal Country, North Sydney Oval on Cammeraygal Country, and Coffs International Stadium on Gumbaynggirr Country.

"The 'U' shapes symbolise people gathering near the water, a significant aspect of Country for these communities and a site of connection," she said.

"The ocean and surrounding waterways, including estuaries, have long been vital food sources for these communities."

Sydney Sixers General Manager and former Australian international, Rachael Haynes, said the club was thrilled to continue working with Ms Pellegrini to design club's First Nations round kit.

"Lua (Pellegrini) has worked with our club previously to design and develop jerseys for our First Nations Rounds and we are pleased to have her onboard again this Season," Haynes said.

"We would like to thank Lua (Pellegrini) for her amazing design for our jerseys this year."

Haynes said the Sixers are working hard to "further reconciliation in action across our club".

"As a community leader we have a responsibility to lead to way in amplifying Indigenous voices, stories and culture," she said.

"We acknowledge their Elders past and present and also acknowledge all First Nations people and their ongoing contribution to the game of cricket."

Led by Muruwari woman Ash Gardner, the Sixers will host their WBBL First Nations round home match on November 20 against the Melbourne Stars.

In the BBL, the club's First Nations round fixture is schedule for 5 January at Coffs Harbour against the Brisbane Heat.

Following last week's kit launch, the Sixers commenced their WBBL|11 campaign with an emphatic victory over the Perth Scorchers on Sunday.

Gardner led the way with the ball, producing tournament personal best figures of 5/15 to see the Sixers bowl the Scorchers out for 109 in the 20th over.

Sixers openers Ellyse Perry (47* from 37) and Sophia Dunkley (61* from 40) saw the visiting Sixers home with more than seven overs to spare.

"It was a lot of fun," Gardner said following the match, via AAP.

"We knew the WACA was going to produce a little bit more bounce, so for me it was about making sure to hit my lengths."
