Police are seeking public help to find a 61-year-old woman reported missing from Redfern.

Leslie Weldon was last seen on Louis Street, Redfern, at approximately 7.30pm on Thursday, 9 January 2025.

When efforts to contact or locate her were unsuccessful, South Sydney Police Area Command was alerted on Friday, 10 January, and inquiries into her disappearance began.

Police and family are deeply concerned for Ms Weldon's welfare, as she has dementia and requires medication.

Ms Weldon is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 150cm tall, with a thin build, shoulder-length brown/grey hair with red tips, and hazel eyes.

She was last seen wearing a blue/green hooded jumper, dark blue jeans, brown slides, and carrying a grey leather backpack.

She is known to frequent the Eastgardens and Leichhardt areas.

However, some recent comments via the NSW Police's Facebook post have reports noting she was seen on Friday near Darlinghurst.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact South Sydney Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the crimestoppers website.

Reports are handled in strict confidence, and the public is reminded not to provide information through NSW Police social media.
