Lawson Humphries will remain in Geelong for at least another three seasons after inking an extension with the club early in preseason preparations.
The Cats announced the 22-year added two years to his existing deal keeping him at Kardinia Park through to the end of 2028.
Humphries came to Geelong with the second-last pick in the 2023 national draft, plucked from WAFL club Swan Districts after just nine league games.
The Pilbara-raised talent debuted mid-way through 2024 collecting 15 touches against the Bombers; locking his spot in the senior side for the remainder of the year - including two finals.
He averaged 16 touches across 25 games off the Cats' halfback in his second year, leading his teammates for rebound 50s.
"Lawson has become an integral part of our football club in such a short period of time, and we are pleased to retain him until at least the end of 2028," Geelong executive general manager of football Andrew Mackie said.
"Since arriving at Geelong, we've all seen Lawson's on-field ability which is matched by his brilliant character off the field."
Humphries had 23 touches as one of the Cats' best in a losing grand final, capping an impressive 2025.
His best was a 24-disposal effort against Port late in the home and away season.
Humphries also designed Geelong's Indigenous Round jumper for the season, alongside his sister.
He has played 36 AFL games after two seasons.
