Adelaide Lightning have confirmed the signing of South Australian guard Jasmin Fejo for the 2025/26 WNBL season.
A proud Larrakia woman, Fejo has emerged as one of the state's standout players in the NBL1 Central, averaging 20.93 points, 6.71 rebounds and 4.64 assists for the Woodville Warriors.
Her performance at the recent Adelaide Lightning x NBL1 Open Run impressed coaching staff and secured her place on the roster.
Fejo said representing her home city was deeply meaningful.
"There's nowhere else I'd rather play than right here at home in Adelaide," she said.
"The Lightning means so much to me and it's a true honour to be part of shaping the next chapter of the club with the coach, players and the community."
She added that her NBL1 season had pushed her to take the next step.
"I have loved this season in the NBL1 and it's inspired me to dig deep and show Kerryn what I've got."
Fejo also represented the Indigenous Basketball Australia (IBA) Women's All Stars this year, playing alongside Lightning teammate Dallas Loughridge.
"Competing in the IBA was an amazing experience... coming together to showcase Indigenous excellence and talent was something special," she said.
Off the court, Fejo is a mother and passionate about being a strong role model.
"I want my son to see that women can achieve anything if they set their minds to it," she said.
"Perseverance and belief in yourself can truly open doors. It's always a nice feeling when I know he's watching and cheering for me."
Head Coach Kerryn Mitchell said Fejo brings athleticism and strong character to the squad.
"Jasmin represents what we love about South Australian basketball," she said.
"She's a super athlete, runs the floor hard and moves so well.
"She's a great role model and I'm delighted she's joining the team to inspire the next generation."
Fejo joins Ella Tofaeono as the latest addition to the Lightning squad, with both players bringing a strong mix of local talent and international experience to the club.
