Collingwood and league favourite Bobby Hill will bring up 100 AFL appearances in Monday's blockbuster King's Birthday clash with Melbourne.
Hill was expected to run out for his milestone match at the MCG, despite missing periods of the week's preparations with sickness in the family home.
The Magpies are flying mid-way through the season, perched on top of the ladder with 10 wins from 12 games, and a faultless run following an Opening Round loss to GWS only interrupted by a three-point hiccup against the Cats one month ago.
Hill, 25, has developed into one of the competition's elite small forwards after erupting at the Pies since landing from the Giants ahead of the 2023 season.
The 'G has become a happy hunting ground for the high-flyer in black and white stripes.
He has kicked 51 of his 114 career goals from 44 matches at the home of footy, including four on grand final day to cap off his first year at Collingwood with Norm Smith accompanying a premiership medal around his neck after full time.
Hill slotted 33 majors from 24 games in 2023 - his best return on both accounts.
The June long weekend showpiece against the Dees remains a stage he's yet to fire on, he kicked 1.1 two years ago and couldn't hit the scoreboard this time 12 months ago.
"We're hoping he plays his 100th game this weekend. At this stage, barring him getting sick, that'll be the case," Collingwood coach Craig McRae said earlier this week.
"He's a little infectious guy that we love very much," McRae later added. "We love how electrifying he can be".
"He can really give the x factor to our team. The crowd love him. The fans love him. The young fans really adore him.
"When Bobby's on, the MCG is alight, and we're looking forward to celebrating Bobby for his 100th game. It's a great achievement."
Monday will be Hill's 59th in black and white stripes after 41 for the Giants between 2019-2022.
His final year in Sydney was diagnosed with testicular cancer midway through the season, before returning in a fairytell farewell with the club's VFL side to finish the year.
Hill inked a four-year extension to remain at Collingwood until at least the end of 2030.
He's kicked 17.10 from 11 matches so far this season.
