First Nations brand and organisation House of Darwin have announced they are heading to Boorloo/Perth with their new collaborative event series, For The Love of Country.

For the Love of Country begins with those who live it and invites those who will fall in love with it.

In an Indigenous context, Country is not just land. It is living. It holds history, culture, knowledge and care. People belong to Country, not the other way around.

This concept begins with those who live that relationship every day, and extends to those who may be encountering it for the first time from those that live it, to those that will fall in love with it.

For the Love of Country creates thoughtful points of connection through food, design and gathering.

It asks people to slow down and consider the origins of what they are eating, wearing or sharing. How it was made, who made it and where it comes from.

From North to West - it always begins with Country.

This February, House of Darwin will head to Fremantle for a limited pop-up at Walyalup, collaborating with Poppy Lissiman, Patio, and local artists to share a series of unheard Love Letters written For the Love of Country, carried from Larrakia to Walyalup.

The pop-up brings together fashion, art, food and storytelling as a way of honouring place, connection, and creative exchange. A meeting point between the north and west. Saltwater to saltwater, grounded in respect for the country and the people who shape it.

Inside the shop and gallery space, visitors can explore a curated collection of House of Darwin favourites, collaborative art pieces, and exclusive designs created with Poppy Lissiman.

The Lissiman x House of Darwin collaboration officially launches exclusively in Lissiman's Flagship store on Friday the 13th, marking the opening weekend of the pop-up.

Kicking off the For the Love of Country residency, Lissiman will host a Welcome to Walyalup evening celebrating the coming together of our shared communities.

House of Darwin will also be stocking Flash Minky. Flash Minky works with a variety of West Australian Indigenous artists, to create bespoke soft furnishings.

This is a space where shoppers are encouraged to slow down, look closer, and appreciate where objects carry story, and design becomes a way of staying connected to Country.

At the For the Love of Country restaurant takeover, Uncle Robbie, Minoli, House of Darwin, and Patio host a Sunday takeover shaped by Larrakia Country, Sri Lanka, and Walyalup.

This event will display how a good meal isn't just about the food, it's about the place and the people gathered around it.

Food carries memory, culture, and care, how it's made matters. Where it's made matters. This shared table is shaped by the love of Country and all that it produces.

A reminder that landscapes and cultures live on in what's placed in front of us.

When speaking on the upcoming For The Love of Country events and collaborations, House of Darwin founder Shaun Edwards shared his excitement.

"This concept begins on Walyalup Country - we're really excited to work with local Indigenous creators to see what we can make celebrating different mobs country," Edwards told Style Up.

"This is a concept we are going to take around the world and we can't wait to see where it evolves to."
