After a career-best outing, exciting Bulldogs forward Arthur Jones is expected to be sidelined for up to a month.

The club confirmed Jones has suffered a low-level hamstring strain — adding to their significant injuries woes — following Sunday's five goal win over Essendon to continue their unbeaten start to the year.

Jones is set to be sidelined for two to four weeks, after his influential career-best three goal contribution in the contest.

The Bulldogs will also be without star mid Ed Richards and ruck Tim English for a period, the pair suffering a knee tendon issue and MCL injury, respectively.

Neither Richards nor English have a loose return date circled as their setbacks continue to be assessed.

Elsewhere, Sydney recruit Malcolm Rosas and Hawthorn defender Karl Amon will attempt to put their hands up for an appearance at Gather Round in Adelaide this weekend.

At Gold Coast, Jy Farrar left his club's VFL game against cross-town rivals Southport early with an ankle injury.

Rosas was removed from the Swans' side shortly before they ran out for a big win over West Coast in Boorloo.

Calf tightness in the warm up was the cause, threatening to rule him out of a match up with his former club Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.

Amon missed the Hawks' nail-biting win in another Easter Monday classic against Geelong.

"Karl has cartilage irritation in his knee from the Sydney game. It's taken longer to recover, and we just needed more time," Hawthorn high performance manager Peter Burge said in an update.

"He did fully train last Friday, but we just made the decision to take a little bit more time, given he wasn't feeling back to 100 per cent. He will be assessed at training this week."

At the Suns, Farrar will wait to see about his recovery plans.

"Jy, alongside our medical team, will now consult with specialists on the optimal course of action. We will have more clarity on a return to play timeline following those consultations," Suns head physiotherapist Andrew Weller said.
