Teams have been announced for next Friday's Indigenous and Māori All Stars fixtures in Townsville with Dally M Medallists, Origin representatives and emerging stars of the men's and women's competition set to feature.
Nicho Hynes, Josh Addo-Carr, Latrell Mitchell, Kotoni Staggs, Cody Walker and Hamiso Tabui-Fidow lead the Indigenous All Stars mens lineup.
For Tabui Fidow, it's a return to his hometown and the Indigenous side after missing 2023's match after further establishing himself as one of the game's elite attacking players with Queensland and through the Dolphins' debut NRL campaign.
Reigning NRLW Dally M medallist, Tamika Upton similarly returns for her second Indigenous All Stars game after not travelling to Rotorua last year.
Upton starred at fullback towards back-to-back premierships with Newcastle under men's Indigenous all stars coach Ben Jeffries.
Shaylee Bent, Taliah Fuimaono, Tallisha Harden and Jaime Chapman join her in the side.
2023 men's Dally M Medallist Kalyn Ponga ruled himself out of playing for the Māori All Stars alongside Ken Bromwich, Dylan Walker, Brandon Smith, Jahrome Hughs and Gagai brothers Jacob and Dane.
Dane Gagai has featured in either side, playing three matches for the Indigenous All Stars before first pulling on the Māori jumper in 2019.
Kennedy Cherrington, Shannon Mato, Jasmin Strange and Zali Fay have all been named in the Māori women's side.
