Indigenous-owned fight promoters No Limit Boxing have locked in Sydney as hosts to one of the most significant bouts in the sport's history in Australia.
On March 12 undefeated Aussie Tim Tszyu will jump into the ring with American former world champion Tony Harrison for the WBO super welterweight world title over 12 rounds in his home town at Qudos Bank Arena in his hometown.
It marks a swift turnaround for No Limit following the cancellation of their landmark co-promotion and first venture to Las Vegas fell through with Tszyu's initial opponent Jermell Charlo pulling out of the fight with a broken hand.
Harrison comes in as the only man to have beaten Charlo while the Australian remains undefeated in his journey toward the belt.
The potential wobble has turned into a landmark opportunity on home soil for the fighter and Indigenous-owned company alike.
"Tim Tszyu is the undisputed superstar of Australian boxing and I am delighted he gets to fight for his very first world title in front of his incredible hometown fans in Sydney," No Limit Boxing chief executive and former NRL star George Rose said.
"Tony Harrison is Tim's toughest test by a mile and he will no doubt be ready to bring his very best on what I expect to be a tough day down under for him inside and outside the ring.
"It's going to be a history-making event with an atmosphere never seen before at a world title fight in Australia.
"Sydney is not going to know what hit it when the first bell rings.."
Equally excited at the news is NSW Minister for Sport Alister Henskens, backing both Tszyu and No Limit to put on the show.
Broadcasters Foxtel have also jumped on the wave of support.
In a family affair, Nikita Tszyu joins his older brother on the card for a tussle with undefeated southpaw and current Australasian champion Bo Belbin amongst a list of fights.
Tickets are now on sale for the fight night next month.
