Kalwun Development Corporation will host two major National NAIDOC Week events on the Gold Coast, bringing Indigenous and wider community members together to celebrate culture, connection and shared pride.

The events will be held in line with this year's NAIDOC Week theme, 50 Years of Deadly, which recognises the strength, resilience and cultural pride of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The first event, NAIDOC Community Day, will be held at the Gold Coast Sports Precinct in Carrara on Wednesday, July 8 from 10am to 2pm.

The family-friendly event will celebrate culture and connection, with community members invited to gather for cultural activities, storytelling and shared celebration.

Kalwun representatives and community members will also be available for interviews during the event.

The second event, the NAIDOC Celebration March, will take place on Friday, July 10 from 10am.

Community members will march together from Queen Elizabeth Park in Coolangatta to celebrate unity and shared pride.

The march will include community gathering opportunities, cultural activities and storytelling.

Kalwun said the events would invite all community members to come together, connect and celebrate National NAIDOC Week.
