Biripi teenager Holyee-Ann Jackson has been named Junior Rider of the Year at the 2024 Queensland Performance Awards, capping off a strong season of competition and training.
The award recognises the Ipswich & West Moreton BMX Club rider's consistent performance across major BMX events throughout the year.
Ms Jackson said she was "stoked" to receive the award.
"Honestly it feels great. I didn't think I was going to get it, I was kind of hoping for it but it wasn't 100 per cent mine," she told National Indigenous Times.
"But I got it, so I'm pretty happy," she said.
Now in the senior women's age bracket, Ms Jackson has continued to rise through the BMX ranks.

In 2023, she took out the superclass women's division at the 2023 BMX Queensland State Championships and placed top five at the 2023 AusCycling BMX National Championships in Launceston.
Despite extreme weather conditions earlier this year disrupting track access, Ms Jackson said she remains focused on her long-term goals.
"My next big thing is Nationals at the end of the year, but I'm definitely thinking long-term. I want to get to the Olympics," she said.
Ms Jackson said her development as a rider comes down to dedication and understanding.
"It's about strength and your ability to understand the track and your bike. Just train – never stop training."
Outside of racing, Ms Jackson recently received her learner's licence and balances school, part-time work and daily training.
"I work at Zaraffas part-time. I still go to school, and I train every day," she said.
"Some weeks I work between 10 and 35 hours.
"I think I'm just trying to set out my future now because I know it's only going to get harder when I grow up."
She also recently took part in Nat Cook OAM's Elevate 20 program and helped co-create an event as part of the program, which was named a winner by organisers.
As one of the rising names in Australian BMX, Ms Jackson said she's focused on pushing through challenges and continuing to improve.
"There's a few more faster girls now but that's something I can work around," she said.
When asked how she keeps up the intensity, she said simply; "I'm just used to being busy."
