After just 49 AFLW games Essendon mid Maddy Prespakis carries one of best CVs in footy.

The Dja Dja Wurrung 22-year old has taken home the rising star medal, four club best and fairests, three All Australian selections, and the league's most prestigious individual award across just over five seasons between the Blues and Bombers.

After debuting in 2019 Prespakis almost instantly asserted herself among the competition's elite.

Remarkably, her 2020 AFLW league best and fairest came after playing just seven games for the year and 16 matches overall.

On Saturday she lines up for her 50th career game against younger sister Georgie - a star in her own right at Geelong.

After best and fairests in 2019, '20 and '22 at Carlton, Prespakis made the move to the club she grew up supporting for their inaugural campaign in AFLW season 7.

"As an athlete/individual I want to keep striving to get better in all aspects of my life," she said on joining Essendon.

"I truely believe that this step is the right one for me."

The change would prove right, taking home the Bombers first AFLW best and fairest in another All Australian year.

In September the 22-year-old became the youngest player to reach 1000 career disposals in the league's history.

Prespakis is averaging 26 disposals, five tackles and close to six clearances a game across the first half of 2023.

Georgie, 20, is similarly putting together a dominant year averaging 22 touches and nine tackles per game in the Cats' midfield.

Essendon and Geelong meet at Warrnambool on Sunday.
