NSW Police have renewed their appeal for public assistance as inquiries continue into the disappearance of a 25-year-old Aboriginal man last seen on the New South Wales South Coast.

Corey Stubbs was last seen about 8pm on Sunday, 22 March 2026, in the Sussex Inlet area.

His disappearance was reported to police on 23 March, prompting officers attached to South Coast Police District to begin inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and Mr Stubbs' family hold serious concerns for his welfare.

Mr Stubbs is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, with a slim build, standing about 170 to 180 centimetres tall, with short dark hair.

He was last seen wearing light blue board shorts.

Police said anyone with information about his whereabouts, or who may have seen him in the area, should contact Nowra Police Station or Crime Stoppers.

Bay and Basin Police Chief Inspector Nick Hallet said multi-agency crews had spent several days searching for Mr Stubbs after he was reported missing, according to ABC Illawarra.

Police believe Mr Stubbs had been watching the sunset on the beach with a 29-year-old female friend before he entered the water.

Chief Inspector Hallet said investigators were not treating self-harm as a line of inquiry, although alcohol may have been a factor.

Further search efforts may include another aerial operation and other investigative steps.

"Over the coming days, we'll see if we can get an aerial search - get the area covered by a helicopter," Mr Hallet said.

"We'll also try other investigative strategies like see if there's any movements on phones or bank accounts."

Police said concern had grown because Mr Stubbs had not contacted family since he was last seen.

"Even if he didn't want to interact with the police for any reason, and I understand sometimes people consider that, he would still make contact with family," Mr Hallet said.

"And our main concern is since that day, that Sunday, he hasn't made contact with family."

Members of the public with information is urged to contact Bay and Basin Police or Crime Stoppers.
