The NRL have announced Jess Mauboy to headline the entertainment at next week's All Stars matches in Townsville.

Mauboy is set to perform her single 'Forget You' from upcoming album 'Yours Forever', which is set to be released on Friday.

The two-time ARIA award winner is proud to perform at an event celebrating culture on and off the field.

"..particularly as we bring the event back to North Queensland after a difficult cyclone season. I can't wait to come together with the Townsville community to celebrate their resilience and our shared culture," Mauboy said.

The All Stars fixtures see the NRL's best Indigenous and Māori stars go head-to-head in a NRL season curtain-raiser with both women's and men's contests.

The now-annual event on rugby league's representative calendar returns to Townsville since 2021.

Last year, the All Stars games travelled to Aorteroa for the first time, celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the first Australian First Nations side to travel across the Tasman for tour games.

The Indigenous All Stars ran out 28-24 winners against the hosts in Rotorua following an evenly tight 16-14 for the Māori All Stars in the women's game.

Reigning Dally M recipient Kalyn Ponga ruled himself out of featuring for the Māori All Stars to focus on his upcoming NRL campaign with Newcastle despite it being "It's a special game" to feature in.

The NRL All Stars games start 5:50pm at Townsville's Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Friday 16 February.
