Adelaide star Izak Rankine has committed his long-term future to the Crows after signing a five-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2032 season.

The Ngarrindjeri and Kokatha man still had another season remaining on his existing deal, meaning the new contract secures him at West Lakes for the next six years.

Rankine is coming off a career-best 2026 season, where he further established himself as one of Adelaide's most important players after spending more time through the midfield.

Across 22 games, he averaged career-high figures of 24.4 disposals, 5.2 clearances and 4.3 marks, while also maintaining his impact around goal.

His strong finish to the season was particularly impressive, with Rankine polling Brownlow Medal votes in seven of Adelaide's final eight games.

The 26-year-old recorded five best-on-ground performances during that stretch and finished with 25 votes, the most of any Crows player and enough to place him inside the top 10 overall.

Rankine, who grew up supporting Adelaide, said remaining at the club was a straightforward decision.

"I grew up a diehard Crows supporter and playing here is all I've ever wanted," Rankine said.

"The support from the Club, the connection I've built with our fans and the genuine love the people of Adelaide have shown me, it made this an easy decision.

"Now it's about repaying that faith and helping this Club pursue premiership success. That's what our fans deserve."

Rankine joined Adelaide from Gold Coast during the 2022 trade period after beginning his AFL career with the Suns.

He has since developed into a key part of Adelaide's midfield and forward mix and has now played 127 AFL games across the two clubs.

Crows General Manager List Management Jarryd Roughead said securing Rankine on a long-term deal was an important result for the club.

"To have a player of Izak's calibre committed to our Club for the next six seasons is a fantastic result," Roughead said.

"On the field, he brings a level of class and skill that elevates his teammates, particularly now that he's made that move into the midfield.

"Look no further than the final third of the season to see just what he is capable of.

"And away from footy he is a high-quality person who brings a lot of energy and character to the locker room.

"We're excited to see what he can achieve over the next six years for himself and for the club."
