Indigenous business owner and former AFL players Raphael Clarke has donated nine football guernseys signed by their respective 2026 AFL teams to help raise funds for families affected by the recent floods in Nauiyu, Daly River.

In March this year, the Daly River reached a record flood level of 16.25 metres, forcing Nauiyu residents to evacuate their community and temporarily relocate to Darwin.

The flood's impact left families separated from their homes, community, and everyday lives for more than three months.

As Nauiyu continues to recover and rebuild, Mr Clarke is aiming to help families get back on their feet.

As Managing Director of Wurrba, Mr Clarke is drawing on his AFL connections and community spirit to deliver the Nauiyu 2026 Floods Fundraiser - Live AFL Guernsey Auction.

The signed Collingwood, Greater Western Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Carlton, St Kilda, Port Adelaide, West Coast, and Richmond will go under the hammer next week, with all funds raised through the auction supporting Nauiyu families impacted by the floods.

"Football has always been about more than what happens on the field. It brings people together and creates strong connections across communities," Mr Clarke said.

"After seeing the impact of the floods on the families of Nauiyu, I wanted to use my connections in football and business to give something back.

"This auction is an opportunity for people to secure a special piece of AFL memorabilia while directly supporting families as they return home and rebuild their lives."

The Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network (NTIBN) said the fundraiser demonstrates the positive impact that can be achieved when Indigenous business, sport and community work together for a shared purpose.

Community members, businesses, football supporters and AFL collectors are being encouraged to support the auction and help raise as much as possible for families affected by the significant flooding event.

The live AFL guernsey auction will be held online on Friday 11 September.
