St Kilda trio Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Brad Hill and Liam Henry all produced strong performances in their team's AAMI Community series win over North Melbourne yesterday.

The Saints were able to hold off a second half comeback by the Kangaroos to win 11.18 (84) to 10.5 (65) at RSEA Park.

Wanganeen-Milera was one of the better players on the ground with an eye-catching 29 disposal performance.

The young gun looks set for a big season in what will be his third year in the AFL system after an excellent junior career.

The hard-running Brad Hill had a strong performance collecting 23 disposals, while former Fremantle player Liam Henry had a number of magical moments in his new colours.

Henry finished with 17 disposals and kicked a brilliant goal from near the boundary line late in the contest which helped to seal the Saints' win.

The 22-year-old arrived at the Saints during the pre-season after the club sent its future second-round and fourth-round draft picks to the Dockers.

The talented wingman had a breakout year for Fremantle last season with his season highlighted by a 32-disposal performance against Essendon which resulted in him receiving the three Brownlow Medal votes.

Hawthorn great Dermott Brereton said on SEN three weeks ago that Henry's trade was one of the off-season player moves that fascinated him the most.

"One thing about the Saints, I really want to see how Liam Henry adapts to playing for them," Brereton said on SEN Afternoons.

"He is an excitement machine and it clicked for him last year.

"He was a spare parts, thereabouts player up until 2023 and then he clicked during the season.

"If he does the same, he could be the value that Bobby Hill was for Collingwood in 2023. That's really interesting."

Lance Collard also featured in the Saints' win, gathering two disposals and kicking a behind as he adjusts to the step up to senior footy.

A notable absentee in yesterday's match was up-and-coming midfielder Marcus Windhager, who underwent surgery after breaking his hand during the practice match against Essendon.

St Kilda football boss David Misson said that it was uncertain whether he would be available for the club's opening round clash against Geelong on March 16.

"Marcus will be touch and go for round one, but we're confident this injury won't impede his availability much further beyond that," Misson said.

"One silver lining is that Marcus is very attuned to the best way to rehab this injury, so we're confident he'll get to work and be back as soon as he can."
