Moogahlin Performing Arts is seeking a Yellamundie Festival Director to help shape the future of First Peoples performing arts.
The Festival Director will work across the 2027, 2029 and 2031 Yellamundie Festivals to:
• Develop and curate the program
• Build funding
• Drive artist outreach and promotion
• Select and support artists
• Lead Festival delivery
This is a Sydney-based role at Carriageworks, with hybrid working and flexible part-time hours.
We’re looking for someone with experience in theatre-making, directing or artistic direction, creative producing, managing budgets and timelines, leading collaborative creative teams, and strong knowledge of and connections across the First Peoples arts sector.
Since its inception in 2013, Yellamundie Festival has supported the development of 45 national First Peoples works and 5 international First Nations works for the stage. 19 national and 5 international works have gone on to full production in theatres across Australia and overseas, including The Visitors, Healing Scars, The Last Shot and Swim.
This is an Identified role. Moogahlin considers Aboriginality to be a genuine occupational requirement.
