Fresh off a match-winning performance over Super Netball title contenders West Coast Fever last weekend, Donnell Wallam is a late withdrawal from Queensland Firebird's crucial test against NSW Swifts on Sunday.
Just hours before the start of play, the Firebirds confirmed the Noongar superstar had been ruled out of the contest at Sydney Olympic Park with illness.
The Diamond shooter rocketed back into personal form and lifted her side to just their third win of the year with a 66-point outing over the Fever, including nine Super Shots, in the 78-70 ending scoreline.
Speaking after the "emotional" outcome following a unstable fortnight for the club, Wallam said her Firebirds would look to shake things up for those further up the ladder in the final rounds of the season.
The Firebirds and Swifts came into their round 12 contest only separated by percentage on three wins a piece, with the winner able to keep within touching distance of the top four ahead of the final fortnight before finals.
