The son of an AFL champion has brought up a century of goals for the season after another dominant performance in the Western Eyre Football League.
Twenty-year-old Byron Pickett Jr booted his second haul of 20 goals in a match last weekend, taking his season tally to an extraordinary 102 goals from just ten games.
The Western United player has been unstoppable throughout the year, highlighted by a blistering mid-season stretch where he piled on 60 goals across four consecutive matches.
Heading into the final round, he required 18 goals to hit the century mark – and he more than delivered in his team's 38.14 (242) to 1.0 (6) win over Thevenard.
Western United president Andrew Mahar praised the young forward's since joining the club at the start of the year.
"Byron is only the second player in our club history to kick 100 goals in a season so it's a fantastic achievement and has also helped put us in a strong position leading into the finals," Mr Mahar told The Advertiser.
Western United have been a powerhouse of the competition, carrying an incredible 46-game winning streak into September.
Pickett's father, Byron Pickett Sr, enjoyed a decorated career having played 204 AFL games with North Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Melbourne.
The elder Pickett is a two-time premiership winner and was awarded the 2004 Norm Smith Medal in Port Adelaide's grand final triumph.

In other local footy news, a former AFL midfielder has turned with a remarkable individual performance on the weekend.
Ex-Greater Western Sydney and North Melbourne player Paul Ahern racked up a staggering 58 disposals for Essendon District Football League club Pascoe Vale last Saturday.
The 29-year-old Gunai Kurnai man also tallied 28 score involvements, 14 clearances, 19 contested possessions and kicked two goals.
Pascoe Vale piled on an extraordinary 38.22 (250) to crush East Keilor by 225 points, with Ahern leading the charge.
It continues a run of video game–like numbers for Ahern, who just a fortnight ago collected 47 disposals and 21 clearances in another standout display.
Ahern spent six seasons at the elite level with the Giants and Kangaroos, chalking up 22 AFL appearances — all at North Melbourne.
His ball-winning ability was evident in the AFL, gathering 29 disposals on debut before producing a 37-possession effort later in the same season.
Originally taken by GWS with pick seven in the 2014 AFL Draft, Ahern was considered one of the most talented juniors of his crop, but his early years were unfortunately marred by serious knee injuries, including two ACL ruptures.
