Daniel Rioli has informed Richmond he wants out and a trade to Gold Coast for the 2025 season, according to reports.

AFL.com's Cal Twomey reports that Rioli informed the Tigers of his desire to leave on Tuesday.

Speculation of a move north to the Suns for the 27-year-old have circled since mid-year, with the Tigers facing a potential max exodus after a two-win year and their first wooden spoon in the best part of two decades.

Shai Bolton is also said to be pushing for a trade west to his home state, with Fremantle believed to be his preferred destination.

In other news, the Herald Sun reports that premiership medals stolen from Bolton over 12 months ago have been recovered by police.

Tigers trade talk has been popular in recent weeks, with teammate Liam Baker's name also circulated as another player looking to move.

It comes as grand final heroes Marlion Pickett, former captain Dylan Grimes and all-time great Dustin Martin have hung up the boots at the conclusion of their season.

Rioli is contracted with the Tigers until 2027, with the Suns holding three top 20 picks - their no.6 selection considered as a key bargaining chip to get his signature.

Collingwood's John Noble is also understood to have requested a trade to the Gold Coast this week.

Rioli has played 183 games for Richmond since arriving at Punt Road with a first round pick in 2015, and collected 2017, 2019 and 2020 premiership medals with the club.
