Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has propelled St Kilda to the biggest final quarter comeback win in VFL/AFL history with two final minute goals after a starring performance against the Demons on Sunday.

The 22-year-old kicked three second half majors, four overall, and collected a match-high 34 touches on a historic evening at Marvel Stadium to lodge the Saints' sixth win for the year.

Down by 46 points at the final change, St Kilda scored 9.2, to Melbourne's four behinds to snatch victory.

Before a final costly error opened the door for the Saints, the Dees coughed up a chance at stemming the tide when Clayton Oliver failed to score from 20 out in as the clock ticked under two minutes.

Melbourne led 90-84 at the time.

St Kilda survived a stoppage when the ball rebounded back into their defensive fifty and found the boundary at half way with 1:03 remaining.

Marcus Windhager roved the ruck and gave off to Mason Wood, who found Wangneen-Milera 30 metres out - the young Saint plucking a hanger over two Dees before slotting to tie scores.

Eight seconds remained in the contest.

A panicked Melbourne committed one final blunder at the centre bounce handing their opponents a free kick after failing to set up 6-6-6 for the restart.

Wanganeen-Milera sprinted inside fifty from the midfield set-up to mark Rowan Marshall's entry for a shot after the siren.

His second major within a matter of moments lodged the historic win when any score would have done the job.

A "speechless" Wanganeen-Milera credited his teammates speaking to the coverage in the celebrations.

"Did a great job in the last quarter. Pressure was unreal. We just kept fighting and fighting. It was great for the boys," he said.

"The boys dug deep. The month of footy we've done all we could and unfortunately couldn't get the win. It's great to come out and do that.

Wanganeen-Milera joked "I just told the forwards to get out of my way".

The Saints are yet to re-sign the out of contract young gun, who's been heavily linked with a potential move back to his home state South Australia, as his future firms as one of the biggest talking points for the end of the year-trade period.

According to varied reports this week, he's been offered a $1.2-1.4 million a season two-year deal, with the possibility to commit for longer at Moorabbin.

Wanganeen-Milera is developing as one of the competition's best talents as he nears competition of his fourth season.

To go with a match-high disposal tally on Sunday, he produced match highs with his four goals, 748 metres-gained, equal team-best six clearances and nine score involvements.
