Collingwood forward Ash Johnson has missed out on a piece of silverware in grand final week after falling short to GWS' Harry Himmelberg for mark of the year at Monday's Brownlow Medal count.
Johnson's hanger against Carlton in front of a packed MCG during Sir Doug Nicholls round was one of three finalists for the award.

Himmelberg filled both of the other finalist spots with two big grabs from the season.
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Tyler Brockman, Shane McAdam, Shai Bolton and Steven May all had plucks in contention before the top three were announced.
The award presented as Johnson's chance at taking home an honour in the lead up to Saturday's grand final.
Despite settling into the Magpies forward line with 11 consecutive games from round 3, the 26-year-old fell out of favour with selectors in the final rounds of the season.
The Jaru-Kija last featured in Collingwood's shock-loss to Hawthorn in round 21.
In the Brownlow medal count, Wardaman man and Port Adelaide youngster Jason Horne-Francis and polled 16, while Whadjuk Noongar man Shai Bolton ended the night with 14 votes.
