Uncertainty lingers around Selwyn Cobbo's future at Brisbane after the Broncos signed Melbourne's Grant Anderson and handed fellow outside back Josiah Karapani a new deal.
Anderson and Karapani will be with the Broncos until at least the end of 2027, joining Jesse Arthars, Kotoni Staggs, Deine Mariner and Gehamat Shibasaki as backline options on the club's roster next year.
The new signings raise further questions as to the future of Cobbo, who has fallen dramatically out of favour under coach Michael Maguire.
The six-time Queensland representative was dropped from the NRL side after a big loss to Manly in May and is in the final season of a deal worth an estimated $625,000 annually.
Maguire said last week Cobbo's contract talks would "sort themselves out" with on-field performances.
But a new deal for Karapani, the man who has replaced Cobbo in the backline for the past two games, appears ominous.
