Police and postal workers in Western Australia's Kimberley region have collaborated to stop people using the post to circumvent alcohol restrictions in the Fitzroy Valley.
The Fitzroy Crossing Police revealed on Tuesday that, "working hand in hand with the Fitzroy Crossing postal service", they'd executed "a significant seizure of harmful alcoholic products".
"Alcohol-fuelled violence will not be tolerated this festive season," the officers said.
Full strength alcohol take-aways are banned in Fitzroy Crossing and Halls Creek. Bottleshops in the region also have shorter opening hours than most of the state.
There are also restrictions on how much alcohol people can transport in vehicles.
Alcohol brought into communities in the valley is often sold at wildly inflated prices in the practice known as "sly grogging", worsening the social impact of problem drinking.
