D'Arcy Short's highest score of this year's Vitality Blast, England's domestic T20 tournament, has lead Gloucestershire to their second victory of the season.
The 34-year-old struck a game-high 49 (41) to lead Gloucestershire to victory over Hampshire at Bristol's Unique Stadium at the weekend.
Short's performance marked his third consecutive 30-plus score in as many matches.
Opening the batting in pursuit of Hampshires modest 9/124, Short anchored the majority of Gloucester's innings.
Striking three boundaries and three sixes on his way to a near half-century, Short partnered with opener Miles Hammond (22 from 17) and Oliver Price (22 from 18) to guide Gloucester to 4/112 early in the 16th over.
His dismissal at the hands of seamer James Fuller (1/18) prompted a mini collapse, with Gloucester losing 4/11 before tailender David Payne (7* from 3) hit a six off the final ball to see the home side home in a final ball thriller with two wickets in hand.

Gloucestershire's second victory in seven outings came two days after they defeated Kent at Canterbury.
Short posted a quick fire 33 (21) in the victory, a win highlighted by captain Jack Taylor's 54* (36).
The Mitakoodi man posted 34 (23) in Gloucester's previous fixture, a 40-run loss to Glamorgan.
In seven matches so far Short has scored 158 runs at an average of 22.57.
Gloucester currently sit seventh on the Vitality Blast south table.
Their next match is against eighth place Essex on July 5.
