Fitzroy Crossing Police Station has been recognised at the WA Police Recognition of Excellence Awards, taking out two team honours.
The station, which covers one of WA's largest and most remote policing districts, was named Best Regional Team before also receiving the Brilliance in Policing Team award.
Led by Officer in Charge Mark Howes, the Fitzroy Crossing team was recognised for its work with local organisations and community-led programs across the region.
Senior Sargent Mark Howes told National Indigenous Times it was a privilege to have the Fitzroy Crossing team recognised.
"It's an honour to receive recognition from the community that we serve," Sgt Howes said.
"It's police working together with the community, which leads to successful outcomes. My team work extremely hard to make Fitzroy Crossing a safe place to live. As the OIC I'm incredibly proud of all of them."

That work includes the Wangki Police Catch Up radio program, the Marra Worra Worra youth Night Space, weekly football activities with the Central Kimberley Football Basketball League, Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Culture Centre (KALACC) cultural camps and local community safety planning.
WA Police said the approach had helped build trust, reduce youth crime and support safer communities across the Fitzroy Valley.
The awards also recognised the station's focus on cultural respect, transparency and consistent engagement with local people.
