Coming off an award-winning debut in 2022, the Australian Supercars Championship didn't put the brakes on its Indigenous round celebrations when it arrived on Larrakia Country at the weekend.
The Darwin Triple Crown saw more than 40,000 come through the gates for three days of action.
The Hidden Valley Raceway hosted catalogue of racing, featuring Superbikes, Porsche Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, Combined Sedans and Nitro Up North drag racing.
Despite an opening race fraught with early leader Cam Waters' Mustang going up in flames, the Mark Winterbottom notched his first win since twenty 2016 in the weekend's opening Supercars championship race, Broc Feeney and Jack Le Brocq took out the second (season race 14) and third (race 15) respectively, both men sit top-ten in the season leaderboard.
All drivers raced in Indigenous-art inspired decals in celebration of the now-annual event on the racing calendar.
The Triple Crown is delivered by Northern Territory Major Events Company
"The action was non-stop all weekend. Some lucky motorsports fans enjoyed a money-can't-buy experience by braving a hot lap with a Supercars driver or a pillion ride with an Australian Superbikes rider, and some won the chance to join the Grid Walk, where they got up close to the cars and drivers," NTMEC chief executive Suzana Bishop said.
"The weekend completed five days of entertainment, which kicked off on Wednesday with the Night Transporter Convoy, followed by the Driver and Rider Signing Session on Thursday. Darwin really is the place to be when it comes to family friendly world-class events."
Last year, Supercars' Indigenous round took out bronze at the global Eventex awards in both the best cultural event and best positive change event categories.
Indigenous Round will return to Larrakia Country in 2024.
