Approximately 40 members of the Tiwi Bombers' playing group and coaching staff have been left stranded in Darwin due to weather conditions affecting flights back to the Tiwi Islands.
The club will spend the entire week based in Darwin before undertaking preparations for its Round 14 clash against Nightcliff this Saturday.
The Bombers released a statement on social media during the week informing the club's supporters of their predicament.
"Due to the aircraft service provider we use, their limitations and capability to fly in such adverse weather conditions has left the Tiwi based players and staff unable to return home," the statement read.
"This has caused a range of issues but for the most part our team has come together and have rolled with the situation put before them.
"We will utilise this time positively to tick off a few outstanding items and get a chance to train as one, training together does not present itself often so we will take full advantage of it."
Tiwi are coming off a 53-point loss to reigning premiers Waratah in last weekend's game which was contested for the Maurice Rioli Cup.
Maurice's eldest daughter, Donna Rioli spoke and presented the cup on behalf of her siblings and the Rioli family.
Hawthorn champion and Norm Smith Medallist, Cyril Rioli caught up with the Bombers' squad before last Saturday's game. A handful of former AFL players were also in attendance for the match.

The Bombers have said that despite the challenges they have faced this week, the group remains in high spirits.
"Besides only packing for one night's stay, and without some important items such as clothes and kid's toys, the team is in high spirits, they said.
"As we have done in the past, we will continue to put one foot in front of the other regardless of the obstacles put in our way."
The club has also appealed to anyone in Darwin who may be able to assist.
"We have fathers and mothers separated from their children and partners, we have mums and dads at the hotel with their children," they said.
"If you're out there and feel you have means to help in any way, especially with the kids, please contact the club.
"Family that are in Darwin with ability to stay in contact and provide support we do encourage."
The Bombers sit seventh on the Northern Territory Football League ladder after a much-improved season that has resulted in four wins from 11 games – their best return since the 2019/2020 season.
Tiwi's women's team are in eight position with three wins so far this season.
