Brisbane's Bruce Reville and Greater Western Sydney's Josaia Delana have both been rewarded with contract extensions at their respective clubs.
Reville has committed to the Lions until at least the end of 2029, while Delana will stay with Giants through to the end of the 2028 season.
For Reville, the new deal continues a remarkable journey to the AFL.
Before earning his opportunity, the Papua New Guinea-born utility balanced his football dream with a range of jobs, including forklift driving and work at an abattoir.
After coming through the Brisbane Lions Academy, Reville joined the club as a Category B rookie in the 2023 Rookie Draft and made his AFL debut the following year.
He has since gone on to become part of Brisbane's premiership success in 2025 and remains an important member of the side this season.
Brisbane Lions General Manager of Football Danny Daly said the extension was well deserved.
"It's a great reward for Bruce's hard work," Daly said.
"Bruce is an incredible story of someone who chased a dream and never gave up - so he deserves everything that comes his way."
Reville said the decision to recommit was an easy one and reflected the support he has received from those around him.
"It feels amazing to re-sign and it means so much for me and my family - so it was one of the easiest decisions I have even had to make," the 25-year-old said.
"I absolutely love this amazing club from the staff to the players as everyone here is incredible and has a genuine care for you as a person and a want to see you succeed.
"On a personal level I just want to reach my potential as I think I have a lot more to give and I am driven to get better every day.
"I feel as a club yes, we have achieved a lot in the last few years, but I think we can still in improve and strive for more.
"That's one of the best things about this place; everyone is still so hungry for it and that's exciting."
Meanwhile, Delana has also earned a show of faith from his club after signing a fresh deal with the Giants.
The 19-year-old small forward joined GWS as a Category B rookie in the 2024 Draft and quickly impressed with strong form in the VFL.

He debuted in last year's Sydney Derby at the SCG in Round 8 and played three senior games in his first season.
The 19-year-old has carried that momentum into 2026, featuring in the club's opening four matches and continuing to show the flair and energy that have made him one of the Giants' most promising young players.
GWS Executive General Manager of Football Jason McCartney said Delana's progress had been impressive.
"Joey continues to work extremely hard on his game and has already shown this year that he can certainly play a role for us at AFL level," McCartney said.
"He's a remarkable story in someone who comes from a non-traditional AFL background and for him to come through the Academy and to be a contributor at AFL level is a really special story."
