Melbourne livewire Kysaiah Pickett's finals run could be over irrespective of whether his side gets past Carlton on Friday night after making high contact with Blues captain Patrick Cripps during the second quarter of the contest.

Kozzy faces a nervous wait to learn his fate from the Match Review Panel after collecting Cripps while leading with his shoulder, the pair making head-to-head contact in the collision.

The 22-year-old elected to bump, a factor usually resulting in harsher assessment from the MRO.

Pickett already missed two-weeks earlier in the season after a similar incident with Western Bulldogs player Bailey Smith in round one.

Friday's hit could see him rubbed out of a preliminary final contest, with the possibility of missing additional games, should the Dees get past Carlton to face Brisbane next week.

Cripps left the field immediately after the hit with a blood nose but returned minutes later suggesting he passed a concussion assessment from Melbourne doctors.

Kozzy has already been involved in a physical altercation with a Dees opponent in the first term, dishing out a solid jumper punch while tensions flared early.
